GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
CSS-M substations are designed for transformation and distribution of energy destined to customers fed in medium voltage (MV) for voltage up to 24kV and for one transformer up to 630 (1.000) kVA. They are of the vibrated concrete prefabricated compact type for outdoor installation, and equipped with SF6 insulated MV Ring Main Units and LV transformer protection board.
This kind substations, in compliance with IEC 61330, are erected, fully-equipped and routine tested in factory, and consigned to the customers ready for their installation and put in service. The operations on site for the put in service of the substation are limited only to its positioning and connection of MV and LV cables.
CSS-M substations are suitable to be installed in areas where building or landscape constraints are present. Besides, thank to the use of MV SF6 switchboards, CSS-M substations can be installed in areas with pollution problems (dust, humidity, salinity).
The substation comprehends also the underground type integrated basement and so the foundation works are not required but only a ground uniform levelling.
Due to the compact design (MINIBOX type), this substations may commonly be transported world-wide, either on track or in standard container service.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The concrete substations are produced using specific and tested technique system for concrete prefabrication. The enclosure is composed by a vibrated and reinforced concrete self-standing single-block. The quality of the concrete is assured by using of automatic mixer and preparation system.
· The internal structure is made of double high quality electro-welded metal grid electrically interconnected and linked to the grounding system assuring the electric equipotentiality of the enclosure.
· The walls and the cover are treated with water resistant plastic coating, assuring a high performance under heavy weather conditions.
· Substations are equipped with internal electric plant including one light point and one socket.
· The standard doors and windows (IP33 protection degree) are usually made of steel changeable with fibber-glass type (on request).
Ventilation system
The natural ventilation system has been studied to assure the correct cooling of the transformer and the declared thermal class.
